He is trying... not to think about it too hard... because it would make him sad, particularly because he missed them leaving. But they have accomplished their personal goals and he is happy for them!! :B It seems selfish to miss them.

If he was thinking about it harder he would be more distraught, because he feels a lot like Valiant was the... core of original Tiger's Eye's morality? Valiant was overly idealistic a lot of the time but that was a good balance, and a desire to protect Lark did a lot for them too. Raven knows he himself is not a good person with strong morals and not a good example. Which is why he's actually been extremely deliberately playing up the Tiger's Eye-values thing to Naoto and other people lately - he doesn't actually trust himself to maintain that without effort and support.

(Aside, that was mostly what messed Raven up about Beauty's choice game too - he was following Tiger's Eye's pattern, but he was making the choice basically by himself without their support, and the result was terrible.)

Are there any castmates you particularly want?

Kakashi!!1 I always want a Kakashi. Here. Camp. NEEDS MOAR KAKASHI. A Tsunade might be cool, too. Also I'd like Naruto to reapp sometime. :T

Are there any other teams you think it would have been interesting to have Raven on, if he hadn't been a Tiger's Eye?

Well, Raven started the second week of Aather, when all the teams were still new, so it's hard to say! I do think it would have been pretty interesting to have more morally dubious influences, because Raven does easily fall into a pattern of doing dubious things without thinking about it very hard if he's convinced by someone it's the best path or if he's playing a certain role. I don't know what team specifically would have worked out like that, though. Tiger's Eye might very well have, itself - Asch, Raven and Mitchell are all not exactly fluffy paragons of good decision-making. :|a

If I apped Raven now... idk what team it would be most interesting for him to be placed on, actually, it's hard to imagine. Emerald would work but wouldn't be radically different from TE, I don't think. :|a Although I could be wrong. Car...nelian? Or maybe Peridot, even. He likes most of Iolite but I wouldn't want him on Iolite because he couldn't handle the independence required.

Same question for Itachi!

Iolite would have been interesting in that it would have pushed Itachi in the opposite direction of where Emerald pushed him. Emerald has overall been a positive influence and helped him to realize he didn't need to be the same kind of asshole he was in canon. Iolite probably would only have encouraged his willingness to make amoral, ruthless decisions and he would have ultimately ended up putting on a similar act as he did in canon. Not to mention he would have much more easily fallen into being a manipulative mindfucker with Vincent as a primary influence in his life.

The Uchiha drama would have exploded a lot more violently, too. :|a

But other than that I'm not sure. Ruby or Peridot might have been interesting, but I'm not sure how that would have turned out in the long run. I have just thought a lot about the Iolite thing because Saro and I often talk about how Iolite has encouraged Neji's ninjaness, and it probably would have done the same for Itachi. :x

What castmates would you like to see for Raven?

You also would have gotten a dragon. It's a fair trade off.

No, I doubt my ability to keep up with activity with a character other than Itachi right now. It's not impossible if I find someone who pings me hard enough. But in general I tend to fail at keeping up solid activity with characters other than him. XD;

I also doubt my ability to keep up activity with anyone else while I am playing Raven (I didn't actually do that very well even when I played Perscitia), but I still really want a second character who's a lady psychopath. |D For... balance. I am still thinking of apping Azula! But my attention keeps wandering such that I don't even canon review or write an app, so. IDK if that's actually going to happen.

Canon-wise I am most excited about Umineko lately, so maybe when I get through it I will app someone from that, we'll see.

What do you think it would have been like if you apped Itachi as a knight?

Uhh, it might have been similar to what I described happening with Iolite in some ways. He'd have been more inclined to accept the roles he accepted in canon, at least, though knights seem to have their own form of morality/ideology to follow in terms of taking care of the teams and protecting them and Itachi probably would have adopted that pretty quickly. And he would have been very inclined to carrying burdens on his own without compromising or asking for help. I imagine he'd have died a few times by now, too. XD;

What does Raven think of the personae in general?

HMM... he doesn't, mostly. Not in general. If he starts thinking about it too hard he remembers Beauty's choice and how they might have to do this forever and how pointless and stupid the whole system is, and he can't actually function like that so he would rather not. The personae are an Authority, they are there and they have the power, and there is nothing in particular he can do about it. So he might as well interact with them on the manageable level of individuals and individual choices.

Same question for Itachi.

He didn't have a huge issue with them until Beauty's choice and then his attitude started to change a bit. The recent round of unpleasant games as well as how frequently they've been happening doesn't help, either. He's pretty dubious of them in general now, though he's willing to take them on a case by case basis, too (he does have some he kind of likes). He realizes they don't really look at things the way the heroes and knights are inclined too, and he understands why that is, but it doesn't make him less wary. It probably makes him more wary in some ways. That being said, though, he does not resent them the way Sasuke does. He just kind of tries to be practical about them.

Speaking of the resent unpleasant games. What has Raven thought of those?

Well, Raven is biased by the fact that Tiger's Eye has both gotten out essentially unscathed and won all of them. :B Obviously that doesn't the games less unpleasant overall, but it's a different situation when the harm is avoidable. That combined with the fact that he's started thinking of the personae as an immovable authority means he's actually a lot more frustrated with people for going into games willing to hurt themselves on a whim. (Especially Yuri, Iolite and Peridot.) The personae are going to be incomprehensible and cruel no matter what, but if your response to "okay now cut off your hand" is "sure okay" then... they really have ruined you, because it's important to keep valuing yourself and other people, etc. That is basically his outlook right now. And he thinks doing stuff like that to try to win is disingenuous at this particular point since Tiger's Eye's method is on a nine game winning streak. |D

What's Itachi's opinion?

He hates them, oh god, Emerald came out of both Odile's game and the Cheshire/Jabberwock game horribly, and he was kind of frustrated with how they played in the Green Knight's skill game, too. He lost his heart in Odile's game and it freaked him out pretty badly. Knife, too. Knife lost a finger and Roxas disappeared for awhile. Afterward Sasuke flipped his shit. NO GOOD CAME FROM THAT GAME and it was entirely because they were reckless (though he does blame the persona for putting Natsume in danger because Natsume is absolutely the most vulnerable member of the team), and he's talked to Knife about being more careful in the future because lol sob that was terrible. He missed the Cheshire/Jabberwock game, but Knife and Roxas lost their sanity and Natsume became a sadist. Sasuke was working with Carnelian and had to cut a hamstring and puncture and eardrum and had all his negative emotions amplified. So it was a stressful few days.

In spite of Itachi's own willingness to self-sacrifice he'd probably agree with Raven's take on people going into games and agreeing to hurt themselves so easily. He's good with self-sacrifice if he sees a point to it and there's no other way to accomplish a goal. But he's talked to Knife and Hisoka about Emerald approaching games with more caution because he dislikes how willing they, as a team, seem to be with sacrificing or hurting themselves, even if there are other options. He doesn't like taking for granted they can be healed or brought back to life, and when they just agree to sacrificing themselves they are letting themselves be used and hurt for dubious reasons. It's also created conflict between his brother and his team and it's stressful, so he's going to start looking for other options in games, if it's possible.

What kind of games would Raven like to see more of?

Yeah, Raven is also definitely on the side of self-sacrifice to accomplish a goal, but he doesn't like how much people are willing to devalue their lives and their well-being. :|a And clearly many of the same things can be accomplished without loss of limbs.

Raven would actually like to see more strategy-type games! Harmless game-y ones that are nevertheless intellectually engaging. He actually personally likes and does best in party/acting/silly games, but he knows plenty of people who don't like those, and plus he feels kind of useless only being helpful in those ones. He might not be helpful in a strategy game but at least he can try! :B And people like Beatrice would like it better and he would like it if they were happier and not a) annoyed or b) shanking themselves.

I'm just going to keep reversing all your questions. Itachi?

The same, actually! Itachi likes strategy games, and he prefers being able to work toward a definite way to win rather than trust the whims of the personae. He especially likes them when they're harmless, yes. At the moment he's not as good at them as he could be because his strategy is a skill that he needs to earn back, but he likes to feel mentally engaged and he has sort of poked at taking up chess because it helps him re-learn how to think strategically (he's actually played with Vincent).

What does Raven think of Three's realm as compared to Beauty's?

He appreciates the extra cabin space and the fact that it's warmer. He is less fond of the general lack of greenery and places to go and fresh water and fish. In general they have both been very claustrophobic to him, though. And there remains a sad lack of a tavern and hot springs.

What would Itachi/you like to see in an unlock?

Itachi had really been wanting water and fruit, and he got both of those after Odile's game. He wouldn't mind some fresh water himself, but he likes the ocean and beach pretty well. Though the beach can be kind of crowded. He also wouldn't mind seeing MORE fruit or vegetables.

I'd like to see more animals/creatures show up (other than the ones that are around at dusk and dawn). :x

Reversing a question you asked earlier...do you think Raven would have been different if he'd been a knight?

My answer to that is kind of similar to yours in that I didn't want Raven as a knight for the same reason I wouldn't have wanted him on Iolite. I doubt he could handle the independence. Or, rather, he would likely handle it functionally, but get really depressed and wall all his feelings off and not talk about them with anyone and slowly self-destruct.

I did consider apping him as a knight, since Raven... is a captain of the knights, for ten years, in canon (or rather, Schwann is). But he spends those ten years mechanically following directions while being generally apathetic and suicidally depressed (really, convinced he's dead and everything is pointless). And eventually he quits by telling everyone Schwann died in a cave-in and running off to be Raven with the party, so. It's POSSIBLE it would have worked out better than that, but as far as playability goes it seemed like a better idea to start him with a team. |D

Suddenly Sterling and Onyx are colored teams and two colored teams become the new knights! Which teams do you think would work best, and who would kill each other over the role swap first. :|a

Hmmm. I actually think most of Emerald would be decent as knights. Like you, I considered apping Itachi as a knight but thought it would be more interesting to give him the support of a team because that's not really something he seemed to have in canon. But he probably would be pretty good at it. And most of the members of the team have independent streaks that would make them workable as knights, I think

I'm not sure of the second team, though, maybe TE? Or Citrine. It's hard to say since I don't follow all the teams that closely. Iolite is pretty independent so they could theoretically be knights, I guess, except I think a lot of them would be terrifying. Hibari and Vincent as knights? sob it would be terrible.

Also as to the knights becoming colored teams I can't speak for all of them but I know Sasuke would hate it. He kind of hates the team concept. It'd be awful for him. XD

Do you have any plans you want to do with Raven?

Yessss. Raven has a number of projects in progress at the moment, including a quest for a shogi board as a present for Beatrice and a quest with Inara for materials for a picnic. He also needs to get settled into cooking, since he just got that skill, and that involves making sweets for people. He also wants to throw a tea party at some point!

As I was saying on plurk today I really want to run his second-round heart game. :B That should be a lot of fun.

He should really do something with his guild again but he crashed out of it around the move and Judith leaving and idk what he would do to pick it back up. I am also looking forward to doing things with new Tiger's Eye :D

More long-term I have a couple of significant quests I want him to do when he gets the relevant memories and skills back, including questing for Canary's transforming bow, and possibly working out something with a persona so his heart isn't slowly killing him. :|a

Plans for Itachi?

I mostly play things by ear, because my attention span is kind of crap. Things are kind of in transition now, too, which makes it harder to know. Like, Itachi had been kind of keeping an eye on Vincent and figuring out ways to make Sasuke less vulnerable to his mindgames. But then Sasuke kind of topped Vincent the other day and told him to fuck off, so I'm not sure where the whole Vincent vs. The Uchihas thing is going right now, if it's going anywhere at all. :'Da Vincent was kind of pissed, though, Itachi will plan a bit for Vincent becoming possible a threat, either way, I guess.

And Itachi still plans on training Sasuke to not be vulnerable to manipulative creepers, too, really.

And you've just reminded me that Itachi might do a quest with Inara for more philosophy books. They talked about it awhile back but then Hisoka told Itachi he was working a quest like that himself, so Itachi held off a bit. But I'm not sure when/if Hisoka finished that or not. :|a (like I said, crap attention span)

In general I'd like to expand his CR net, too. It's kind of more challenging now that he's remembered the shittier parts of his life. He's pretty content to withdraw and not let people close unless they're people he already trusts.

I can't decide if Yuri should go on this list or not... he's definitely on the list of Raven's most important people, but he's so annoyed with him right now I am not sure "favorite" is accurate. Misato and Judith would both definitely go on here but Misato has left even if Raven does not know that yet and Judith's reapp is still pending, so I won't count them. SO, AT THE MOMENT:
