Jaina and Raven?

HE REALLY LIKES JAINA A LOT. Oo...ps. If she wasn't already Mitchell's girlfriend it would be a more serious sort of liking, but because she is he's not thinking of her like that. But yes he still really likes her. I was apologizing to Mitchell in TE chan that Raven likes his girlfriend better than him. :'D He wasn't just saying things when he told her she's elegant and insightful and pretty or whatever, he does think she is. And part of that is just that Raven... likes women to start with... but she is also composed and clever and practical! And she seems to have a sort of strategic military outlook and composure which Raven admires a lot even if it's not something he feels like he can manage himself (even though he has). On that count he also appreciated her skepticism on the guild subject because he really doesn't feel like it's something for everyone. And of course he is extremely grateful for her offer to draw up schematics for him because... yes his world's power system is pretty screwed up. And that just underlines his impression of her as clever and practical.

REVERSE.

Jaina respects him, because she considers a number of the things he talks about very good ideas. She also assumes that his compliments are just deflective flattery because they call each other out on so many topics. XD But she is glad that they can challenge each other's ideas without getting into a huge spat. Amusingly, Jaina's attraction pings are taller, dark-haired men she can challenge herself with, but Raven has managed to present himself in a way that she appreciates those things about him without feeling the least bit attracted. It's like he's found the uncanny valley or something.

She does approve of Raven's initiative in starting a guild, but thinks the execution is flawed. If he'd invited her she would have snorted and declined, telling him as a Jedi she has a duty to the greater good of the galaxy at large and that means being independent of sovereign governments much less a tiny guild. But they'd be welcome to ask her help anytime~

Tell me about Raven and Inara~

RAVEN AND INARA NEED TO THREAD so he can at the very least tell her he's postponing her picnic until it's warmer again. And also just in general because they haven't actually in a while. Honestly he probably knows Jaina better than her at this point. :x Oops.

What Raven told Jaina in their thread is pretty much the whole of it! He thinks she's pretty and clever and likes flirting with her and wants to get to know her better, and was sort of flummoxed when she dared him to ask her out. He is not sure he actually wants a relationship with her because his outlook on relationships is complicated and he doesn't know her that well, which is making him a little flustered when people like Jaina... or Vincent... tell him to treat her right. BUT she herself seems to be very relaxed and composed about the whole and she assured him it's just to get to know each other better, so he is fairly comfortable with her herself as opposed to taking her out as a concept. :'D

What does Jaina think of Raven and Inara...

Jaina thinks it's fairly hilarious. She did check with Inara just to make sure that Raven's not talking himself out of any possibilities, because she knows firsthand how to do that and he'd been doing some self-depreciation during the conversation. Since it looks like they're both on the same page, she figures it's okay to tease about some, and she'd be glad to help him facilitate a demonstration of swashbuckling even if right now she's basically limited to giving him someone who it's safe to use flashy moves on. And if they decide they want to start getting intimate despite their stated goals, Jaina figures she'll sense that in Inara and conveniently wander off.

But if he treats her wrong, Jaina will be a good surrogate sister and come beat up on him and she wanted to make sure he understood that too. :|a

What are Raven's thoughts on Mitchell/Jaina these days? |D

Raven... kind of ships it... because that's what he does. In general Raven really likes the idea of relationships and seeing two people together so it would take a lot for him to... question that. Even if he's not particularly impressed with Mitchell. Also he figures she's probably good for him. |D HE DOESN'T REALLY HAVE DEEP THOUGHTS ON IT.

Can I read the thread where she talked to Inara about it? THAT'S NOT A REAL QUESTION um. How is Jaina doing with Iolite?

Here is the relevant part. Earlier parts include talking about killing Jacen, how much memories influence people and how Mal apparently married a double-crossing vixen. Discussion on King was actually fairly short because Jaina finally clued onto that Inara gets a little huffy when the subject is her own relationships. XD

She's doing...all right? Inara is basically Jaina's favorite person in in Aather right now, being a very comforting influence that she feels good coming to with her problems. She's also very fond of Spitfire, who can be good for fun antics and who she has talked into helping her out with a project adding onto the cabin because Jaina loves her some engineering projects. Vincent and Jaina seem to be reaching a kind of understanding, and Jaina respects Neji even if they don't interact very much because Neji is very much a reserved ninja. And I may be wrong but I think with Temeraire and Kyouko they mostly just stay out of each other's way. Star Wars cultural attitude toward diversity being what it is Jaina doesn't feel right about bathing him/feeding him/getting him shiny trinkets just because he's the team dragon -- pretty much what appears (me being fairly not-canon-familiar) to be the primary ways in the team to endear oneself to the dragon. And I don't even know where Jaina and Kyouko are, just that it is probably complicated. XD

Is there anything you'd like to see our character do together in the near future?

I WANT PERSCITIA TO TRY TO ORDER SNAKE AROUND. Especially since she has her memories of bullying militiamen into becoming her artillery-squad now. Either fighting something or building something or IDK :|a I have no idea how it would come up but I want it to happen.

As for Raven and Jaina I have no idea. /o/ Their last thread went in surprising and interesting directions so I am kind of willing to just see what happens.

Well I can only enable Perscitia ordering him around because he hasn't gotten a lot of that here even though being bossed around will come to him really easily. XD

I'm looking forward to Jaina having the opportunity to geek at Raven about her schematics, and think she'd have a lot of fun putting on a swashbuckling show for people with him. :3

What surprised you about their last thread?

Well I want to do those things with Raven and Jaina too but I figured those were somewhat given since they were planned. XD

AND I GUESS I DIDN'T MEAN THEIR LAST THREAD but the other one with talking about Inara and getting to know each other and stuff. I was expecting their relationship to be a lot more standoffish for a while, since Raven figured she hated him and stuff. And I definitely wasn't expecting him to suddenly like her as much as he did, but she won him over really quickly by being pushy and clever and especially by offering to draw the schematics for him.

So apparently Temeraire wants to outfit his team with guns and stuff... Does Jaina know about that and what would she think of it...

This is news to her, but she'd mostly take it as a good idea. She'd probably play with hers a lot until she's good enough to perform maintenance on them for the team. Unlike Obi-Wan, Jaina doesn't have a perspective of "oh guns are so uncivilized compared to lightsabers." Gun handling is actually a skill that should be going on her registry eventually, because she does have some awesome action sequences with them, though as far as ranged weapons go, when she has a choice she favors sniper rifles, which really don't belong in the game. XD

Is mathdragon's development in aather much different than in canon?

PERSCITIA DOESN'T REALLY... DEVELOP... IN CANON... okay that's not exactly true. But really she's a secondary character who's only in one book. :x And it is not that she personally develops so much as that circumstances change around her to suit her better, so she can take up a role she's more comfortable with.

Aather has kind of been the opposite? She continues to struggle with her circumstances, because the circumstances in which math and logic and strategy are helpful in Aather or in games are apparently limited, especially when you don't want to risk getting hurt. But she has been doing slightly better at actually bonding with people (even if it's still in a tsundere way) and at appreciating viewpoints other than her own on occasion instead of just thinking they're all stupid. She only actually demonstrates this with a few people though.

If you had to drop both of yours and app new people who would you app?

H-hahaha it's not hard for me to answer this because I've been trying to decide which of three characters I want most for my next app anyway (I've given up on the idea that it wouldn't be right to app a third with the large app pool because it's staying fairly stable XD).

I'm kind of bouncing between:

-Maggie Mui, Read or Dream/R.O.D. the TV. Adorable, shy, klutzy bibliomaniac who will spaz out at...ninety percent of the games. And try adopting her team as a family. Will surprise everyone after skill gains as she reveals that despite her default clumsy pushover state, she's actually the strongest member of her party in canon, as well as a clear-thinker and reliable defender when something threatens the party. Also, paper manipulation and her skill at cooking would make for really cute team party posts.

-Molly Carpenter, Dresden Files. Canonically, a character of potential we are supposed to watch develop. We see her go from rebellious, impressionable teenager to an eager sidekick, to a competent and good-willed wizard, and now to a vigilante of questionable sanity. It'd be interesting to see what direction Aather events would take her. She's an illusion/mind magic specialist, which has fun play opportunities, and Automaton will hate her because technology tends to muck up around Dresdenverse wizards.

I HAVE ANSWERED THIS QUESTION BEFORE, it is actually much different than the question of who I am considering apping for my third (or really, when Perscitia good ends, because I don't want three), because if I had to drop everyone I would no longer play Raven, and I could app the people I wouldn't/couldn't play alongside him. :'D

So I would app Rita from Vesperia, who is actually my favorite character (she is the party's genius mage/researcher/inventor, and who Raven was referring to when he told Jaina he knew someone who would be really interested in her schematics) and potentially Battler from Umineko, although I am still working my way through the canon for that.

What teams do you think would be good fits for those three? I LOVE PLANING THE TEAM PLACEMENT GAME.

I am bad at the team placement game because I'm horrible at figuring out team dynamics. However! I would guess that Maggie would work well on a team like Peridot, that I think likes to try being really super tight with each other.

Molly...since the fun with her is the way she changes her character with her environment, I couldn't say; she'd have interesting chemistry no matter what, for the most part. The main thing I'd be concerned about is when she regains her wizard's senses, she'd be terrified of characters like Lucifer, which would either play out really interestingly, or really badly. It'd be better off to have them cross paths than for her to try living with the Devil. XD

Data would be a blast on ANY of them, but I'd put him on a team like Emerald or Sapphire, where you've got someone with some kind of background in Awesome Mechanical Work, so that he can get fixed up when he needs it.

Since you're probably better at the team placement game, what teams would you put them on~

I AM NOT SURE I AM ACTUALLY BETTER AT IT especially since I don't know the characters that well, but--

Maggie would probably fit in super well on Kunzite! Which kind of already is team family bibliomaniac secretly powerful as far as I can tell. Though because of that she might be more interesting on a team she had a little more conflict with, although I think Peridot might be a little too much conflict. She could also do pretty well on Amethyst! It would be interesting to have someone more actively friendly on the team.

Molly would potentially do well on Tiger's Eye but only if you wanted her to end up uncannily stable like the other people of questionable and changeable morality who are on it. Sapphire would also potentially work and probably give her more latitude. Or maybe Carnelian if you wanted to give her a variety of influences. :|a

Data I would put on Amethyst because they are team nerd. And he could be shocked when they are also team yandere. And team clone.

SINCE I DON'T PLAY A KNIGHT what are your opinions on playing a knight and how it is different from playing a team character? What character types work better, that sort of thing.

Playing a knight...The main thing, to me, is picking the right character type. It seems to me like you need someone who either doesn't need the support of a team, or someone who can easily connect with pretty much anyone they come across. They need to be able to do their own thing, since who they're playing with in a game is pretty random. Character relationships tend to be a little different for Snake compared to Jaina simply in that his relationships tend to come around at a different angle -- someone with a responsibility to pretty much everyone, and who is approached by others looking for a job. Jaina feels a responsibility to help most people out regardless of team because she's a Jedi, and if she doesn't like someone she can just stay away from them; Snake feels a responsibility to pretty much everyone in Aather because he's taken a job and that's just part of getting a successful Mission Complete.

I WAS GONNA SAY you have to ask a more specific question than that.

Anyway as for the business about the sex! As I was saying in your plurk the other day, Raven was sort of both relieved and disappointed it was concluded that easily. In general Raven always sort of assumes Yuri is not actually interested in him and is just teasing! However, due to circumstances, he was willing to believe Yuri in the forest with a lust potion was actually seriously interested in sex with him! Which is why he... seriously tried to dissuade him instead of just dodging the subject or joking. And then Yuri pushed the issue and he had confused feelings but held his ground just barely, because Yuri was under the influence of a lust potion and because he really wanted to talk to Misato before getting himself involved in anything. And having sex with Yuri counts as getting involved with something regardless.

BUT THEN LATER AFTER ALL OF THAT in their next conversation he said something half-joking (what if you break my heart) and Yuri dropped the issue easily. So Raven was like... uh well I guess he wasn't that interested after all! That's... good. Yes. Good. That makes things easier. And I wasn't expecting or hoping for anything else. Definitely.

So yes while he is still pretty sure having sex with Yuri would have been a bad plan he is sort of... disappointed that it was that easy to turn it down in the end.

Yeah hilariously Yuri went from being VERY FEELINGS ASSASSINATED TO... back to normal.

He is still a like iffy about pressings things because he really doesn't want to do anything that will mess Raven up! The only reason he pursued it in the first place is that Raven said that he "would offer, BUT..." during the lust potion thing. He didn't find his excuses really compelling... but he is kind of touch and go now, especially after getting yelled at because gosh there sure are a lot of FEELINGS there now. Teasing Raven is one thing but opening up that can of feelings with sex is. Well. That is a lot of feelings. Yuri is becoming more OK with feelings but not quite OK enough to the point where he WANTS them.

Anyway. For the business half of that thread Raven wasn't thinking very hard. Yuri was being an idiot and got himself hurt so he was going to deal with that! It is the sort of mindset he punched Harry in, in canon. Some of that was even bleeding into the rest of the thread because taking care of that means not having Yuri sitting around alone in his room after having his eyes ripped out and emotionally stewing about things. But in general upon reflection he is like... oops I guess even if I'm off doing my own thing and not having sex with him I still really care about Yuri. Hmm. Also before he had been kind of assuming that Yuri was off on his own with his own people and doing fine, BUT GETTING YOUR EYES RIPPED OUT IS NOT DOING FINE, and he didn't express a desire for anyone other than Raven to help him out. So Raven was thrown a little, but he still doesn't... really feel like he is in a place to do anything substantial for Yuri in general. SO INSTEAD HE JUST TIPPED OFF MALEFICENT. :'D Hopefully she'll take care of him. If Yuri had mentioned anyone else in Onyx he trusted he probably would have tipped them off.

What's King think of his guild so far?

Well at this precise moment his thoughts are OH GOD OH GOD WHAT HAVE I GOTTEN MYSELF INTO. Because in the meeting post he had like four new people ask to join the guild and Sion was really impressed by it and Mitchell implied that people not part of it would be left out and he's like augh no it's really not that big a thing we haven't even done anything everyone stop it!! BUT that aside he is really happy with it! Even just having the people together and working with each other and talking to each other with the guild in mind makes him extremely happy. But he doesn't... really want to take a leadership position... or direct anyone into things deliberately, so he plans to just see how things develop and go to the guild as he thinks of things they can help with, and he hopes other people will do the same.

What does Spitfire think of it currently?

It's... interesting. Like he said when Raven originally invited him, it's really nothing more than he would have done anyway, except it's a bit of a different crowd because so far they're mostly people that King's familiar with and close to. He's good with the offering help thing, but accepting help or asking for help will be... an interesting stretch for him. He generally prefers to take care of things on his own unless its for someone else.

What's the state of Raven's relationship with Misato?

THEY ARE CURRENTLY JUST FRIENDS. Because he talked to her and asked what she wanted and she said what she wanted didn't matter because she shouldn't be with either him or Kaji and he couldn't really argue her out of it! But they are very important friends. And there is also the matter that they already... more or less decided this... once before... and then continued to flirt and stuff as soon as they got over the awkward of it. So who knows. But at the moment I think they have taken down their "It's Complicated" facebook status.

What are Spitfire's opinions on monogamous romantic relationships...? Either hypothetically for himself or for other people.

He doesn't really get it. He understands that some people have others that they want to devote themselves to exclusively, and he respects that. He has no desire to encroach on a relationship like that -- even relationships that are declared but open (which is probably one of the things holding him back with Kazu at the moment). For himself though, he's not found any one person that he'd settle down with like that and can't even really imagine what a relationship like that would be like. Most of the people he's most comfortable with physically are not into monogamy. If someone he was close to ask that of him... idk. It would depend on who it was. Either he would politely refuse them or he'd try it... and probably end up failing eventually. He doesn't tie down well.

To counter, what are Raven's thoughts on open sexual relationships?

Heeeee doesn't really... understand them. Raven is naturally jealous and very ~romantic~ in the sense of liking the idea of two people being together and being the most important to each other. IT IS A LITTLE... OVERIDEALIZED... due to the fact that he has never actually experienced anything like this, but! That is his instinct.

HOWEVER obviously... a lot of people in aather have open sexual relationships. He assumes this works for them! If the opportunity arose he would still probably... ask them if there wasn't someone in particular they loved and wanted to be with, and encourage them in that direction, but in general he's not going to actually judge. But he has a lot of trouble imagining what it is like to be close enough emotionally and physically to someone to have a relationship with them and have sex with them and not want to be with them exclusively, or want to avoid interfering with what they had with someone else.

WHEN IT COMES TO HIM having sex with someone else who is in an open relationship would feel like he was intruding. If he managed to get into a relationship himself and it was a question of it being open he would... have difficulty, because he would not have a whole lot of confidence in himself or the relationship. ALTHOUGH... HE MIGHT DO EITHER OF THOSE ANYWAY... depending on the situation and how much he wanted to be with the person. See: kissing Misato in her heart. He would just feel bad about it. /o\

How about a general SOTU for Spitfire!

Spitfire... is actually pretty happy with things right now. For Spit, his skills in A-T and his possession of them are pretty key to his self identity. Part of his early struggle in Aather was trying to find an identity when he didn't have those. So he picked up everything he possibly could -- swords, hand-to-hand, archery. Anything he could grab that he could try to say "this is who I am", but all of his memories kept dealing with A-T. Even memories where he was doing other things like reading a book in a bookstore, he had A-T on. Getting the A-T back from Automaton was the first step in "this is who I really am" for him. He couldn't have waited any longer on getting them. It really was a pretty intense desire to have them, and he would have done anything, and did risk his life, to get them. Then once he had them, there was the frustration of not knowing how to use them. His team had lost 3 skills games, and it was frustrating him so badly. He had skills that he identified with on a base level, and he wasn't getting them. Then he got back an amazing A-T memory (the one he shared with King) and the next day he got his A-T skill back, and he could not have been happier. Learning to use the A-T in Aather and adapting his skills to the area has been thrilling and exciting and he just feels so ... himself. It's like a big piece of what made him him was missing, and he didn't fully understand that until he got the skill back.

THEN THE FUCKING CAT STOLE HIS G-D SKILL. That... was actually pretty devastating for him. Jaina actually summed it up pretty well when she compared the loss of his skill to her loss of Jacen. Admittedly, he had thought that before and never would have said it out loud ever for fear she would kill him, but it's pretty true. It is who he is, and he was pretty triggery during that game, and made some decisions that he was uh... not exactly proud of himself for. He had a lot of "do everything ever" to keep from thinking and raging about his skill-loss.

Right now, he's pretty good with things. He's got good friends, and he's in as good a place with his team as he's been in a while. There's still some hiccups with that occasionally, but they're survivable.

On the relationship front, Spitfire is content and kind of stupidly happy at the moment. Chariot kind of blind-sided him with a glass key recently. They'd talked about it before, but it was just kind of a thing they talked about. He wasn't actually expecting it to happen, and it... made him feel really... good. He's trying not to think about it too much, and if he was ever asked, he'd identify Chariot as a "really good friend", but... he really does love him in a way that no one else gets even close to right now. Which isn't going to keep him from his sexploits, but those are mostly just very casual things. The majority of them are one time events. Ukoku is the only person aside from Chariot that Spitfire has had sex with twice, and they... are purely physical gratification. Their entire relationship revolves around having sex in the woods, and that's about it. They talk occasionally, but it's nothing deep nor probably ever will be.

Raven actually occupies an unusual place in Spit's relationships. He's pretty close to being in Chariot's level, and he's definitely going to press things with that occasionally since Raven basically gave his permission for kissing and makeouts. He will keep it private though as much as he can because that's how things go with that. That permission though also eased him up about physicality with Raven -- Spit will be more hands on and drapey around him. Most of it will continue to be casual though unless Raven starts something because that's just how he is. He's actually pretty okay with it not progressing to sex with Raven at the moment (see bad decisions during the skill-swap game). He just enjoys being around him and is... happy to be comfortable with small physical affections for now.

Ah... and he's pretty ^_^;;;;;; about the whole predictions of doom going on right now. He'll help out where he can, but he's not one of the gung-ho organizers and planners. That's not what leadership is for him -- actually Raven's way of handling his guild is much more similar to what Spitfire's used to and what he identifies as "leadership" at the moment.

Okay, I held off, but relationship for Spit and Raven?

Spitfire is also a weird place in Raven's relationships, but for a different reason. :|a

I know I said all that above, but Raven cannot actually imagine being in a serious relationship with Spitfire. Part of that is just that Spitfire is a guy - Raven has mostly gotten over whatever sexuality crisis he might have had, because Yuri is a helper, but he's still not used to thinking about men in a romantic context. (Yuri is kind of different; he thinks about Yuri seriously but not really romantically because his thing for Yuri is its own thing.) But also more specifically, while he likes Spitfire and thinks he's a good guy, there is not that depth of attachment, particularly because Spitfire insists on admiring him. In general he feels like Spitfire has largely been interacting with this... mentor figure persona Raven has put up, and hasn't had to see him or deal with him at his worst. With what he considers the actual him. So he's still keeping a sort of emotional distance.

HOWEVER he is actually... more willing to be physical with Spitfire than most anyone else at the moment. Because they do care about each other, and because Spitfire is so easy about it, and will push it, and it's hot to feel wanted and topped. And because there isn't the huge mess of feelings involved like there is with Yuri, for example. However he still feels kind of bad about this. Because as far as he's concerned he has taken this impressionable kid and somehow convinced him he's this impressive person and is now using him for sex. Not that they're having sex, but you know. Using him for physical gratification. So he feels like he should be trying harder to shut down the physical affection... but he enjoys it a lot so he's probably not going to, for now. It just doesn't particularly make him feel like a good person making good decisions. But he is convinced he's not a good person who makes good decisions, so that's par for the course.

Actually having sex with Spitfire would be a pretty big thing though, because he hasn't had sex with anyone in a long time, or with a guy ever. :x So he's holding his ground on that one.

What does Spitfire think of Yuri and Raven, or of Yuri more generally?

PERSCITIA IS... neeeeutral...? on Mark? This is actually kind of hard, because neutral is an accomplishment with her! She doesn't think he's dumb, which is her default state for pretty much everyone. Well, she does think she's smarter than him but that's true of literally everyone. And she is comfortable with him and he is Amethyst which means he is hers. :B But they haven't had any good arguments or anything which would shift him into a stronger tsundere relationship like she has with Pascal or Sky. She is comfortable relying on him as a teammate though.

Reverse!

Also somewhat neutral and that is also not as bad as it sounds. I would still not say he is a 100% over the fact that he has a dragon as a teammate and I kind of hope he will let down his guard enough to ask her stupid wtf-dragon questions before, well, she good-ends. But she is...strangely comforting in a way. In all their threads she's been very calm and rational and analytical, which is oddly soothing. Like when he's talking with her, he can just set aside his ever-accumulating emotional issues and talk facts. Which is useful.

Any first impressions from Raven on Ven?

RIGHT I realized belatedly I could have done that relationship too, last night, but then it was too late and I went to bed.

Raven thinks Ven is a good kid! He kind of reminds him of Valiant in his approach to things, which means he has worries about him being too idealistic sometimes. But idealism is not a bad thing to have as a balancing factor so long as it doesn't break him when things don't go well - having Valiant did a lot for Tiger's Eye! He isss kind of worried about him based on what he said about not knowing where he stands with Peridot, but hilariously he doesn't really know... quite how crazy Peridot can be, since he really does only know Beatrice... from flirting with her a lot... and lately he has actually been seeing her as a lot more human and sympathetic. ^^;; BUT he's glad to have Ven in his guild and he hopes it will help him and he will help it. He also thinks he and Josh are very cute and clearly good for each other and he will just let them proceed with that because obviously they are doing well |D

WE'RE DOING OKAY NOT DOING. AGAIN. Raven is more or less back where he was before Misato's heart game, with a slight bonus bit of "why exactly did I think I could have more, that was a terrible idea." So yes he has fallen back into the mindset where no matter how he feels about her his feelings don't matter because he won't end up with her. :'D And that's her decision! He does still worry about her not thinking about her own wants or needs, especially since she said she wasn't going to be with him or Kaji, but he also thinks it's pretty likely that... will not actually remain the case and she'll end up with Kaji again, from previous evidence. Er. BUT IN GENERAL he figures she can sort out her own feelings and do what she wants, and he shouldn't try to influence that because clearly that doesn't work out. And anyway the important part is that they are still friends and he can talk to her. It is not like endless awkwardness and sexual frustration is not the way of his life. Apparently.

Yuri just ICly asked what Raven thinks of being on Tiger's Eye, and his answer was something like "It's kind of a pain sometimes, but I don't know what I would have done without them." Which says a lot actually! Stuff like the days with Mitchell tied up in the cabin was Not Fun, even if it gave him responsibilities to focus on, and he is kind of jealous of the knights who can sit around in their private rooms and not have to worry about basic needs like food and showers and stuff. But he loves his team, and he is pretty sure if he had showed up as a knight, or on a different team, he would have crashed and burned. However he still... kind of feels like he never did as much for them as they have for him. And at this point he feels like they largely don't need it anymore! We notice that "would have done" is past tense. He feels like Tiger's Eye has all grown up a lot. They are still clearly a team that works well together and accomplishes things, but they are not really a group of heavily codependent amnesiacs anymore. EVEN JOSH who is the newest he has never really felt like needed his help. And everyone has important people off the team (like I was noticing in chan, half the team has significant others off the team at this point, and that's not counting Raven or Ferris...). That combined with memories means that Raven is emotionally distancing himself from his team a lot at the moment. The main exception to that is Ferris, and after Ferris I think the person he feels closest to on the team is actually Mitchell, despite not liking him! It's okay he doesn't like himself either.

I am just going to ask everyone for reverses I guess. Mitchell on his team.

After everything Tiger's Eye has put up with in terms of Mitchell killing a guy and then wanting to kill them for a while and stuff, Mitchell has just sort of placed his team on a pedestal of everything he wants to be in life (aside from Ferris but that's another story, I mean in general). He loves them and he wants to be good for them and he desperately wants to be accepted as someone who's as good as them, not that one dodgy guy on the team of nice people. He's actually pretty self-confident now about his ability to be good, he's just not necessarily confident about his team getting past everything and recognising that in him and accepting him. So because of all that, his team's opinion is God. If they approve of something, it must be okay, if they don't approve of something then it's not okay. For example, in canon he cares a lot about being "cool" to fit in and be accepted, in Aather he doesn't care about being cool because his team isn't cool, so his dorky side gets out a lot more.

The flipside of all that love is that if one of them seriously betrayed him he might snap, but considering the team structure of Aather and just who's on his team that seems unlikely.

AT THIS POINT I am fairly close to just admitting I am going to app Balalaika, since I have been thinking about it since like April and it doesn't seem like any less good of an idea. I might not do it until a bit after Perscitia good ends though, depending on how things go, and of course by then I might decide on someone else!

How is Yayoi doing? And why were she and Fon so cute.

SHE IS DOING GOOD she has come to the conclusion that she's in training to be a world-saving hero back home, and that fits in nicely with what she's doing in Aather. I think she might come across as self-deprecating sometimes when really she's just being honest about genuinely not being sure where here abilities are :|a but yeah she's pretty happy in general. She likes pretty much everyone she's met, everyone's working together to save the world and she's never been in a bad game so even games are awesome to her. She was cute with Fon because Fon is actually basically her type only with less glasses. Actually I should have her bother Amethyst more, she liked you guys :3

What was Perscitia's impression of her?

Perscitia honestly was not paying enough attention to have much of an impression of her as a person. She served her purpose in the game and was helpful with jewelry and not particularly dumb or argumentative, so neutral-positive!

I guess I might find out soon anyway but given that the chances that he'll ICly talk about all of it are small, what would Mitchell think of Raven's love life if he knew all the details...

He would think Raven and Misato are both being idiots and should be together. Or Raven should go for one of the other people he's interested in, or more than one. Just in general he wouldn't understand why King's holding himself back at all. Mitchell is familiar with feeling like you don't deserve someone, but in the end he believes it doesn't matter who you are, if you like each other you should go for it and see what happens. He is actually a massive believer in true love, and he remembers enough have that confirmed for him (he remembers telling George that he once had someone who loved him who knew him completely). So yeah he'd think King's being completely ridiculous.

That icon is Raven being from a Tales game and therefore having a lot of occasionally ridiculous alternate costumes and accessories. For instance. That one in particular is unfortunately from the unlocalized PS3 version though.
